The DNA of Doctor Who: The Philip Hinchcliffe Years

Roundel Books has launched a new series of books on the creative team behind Doctor Who, with this first The DNA of Doctor Who book covering Philip Hinchcliffe’s period as producer in the mid-1970s. Edited by Gary Russell, each story is considered thematically, bringing fresh perspectives to the series.

I am delighted to have contributed a chapter looking at how Doctor Who and other 1970s’ television productions were using film and videotape. It was highly enjoyable to write and I’m proud to be among an excellent list of contributors, who cover a wide variety of themes. The design by Will Brooks has produced a really beautiful book.

You can read more about the book’s content and order it through Cutaway Comics , while the original Kickstarter page currently has the full list of chapters and contributors.

Gary joined the Power of 3 podcast to talk about The DNA of Doctor Who: The Philip Hinchcliffe Years.

The DNA of Doctor Who: The Philip Hinchcliffe Years is released in September 2024.
